While playing golf, the cause of a slice is an open clubface. While there are many reasons for an open clubface at impact, one of the more common ones is a golfer's attempts to keep the clubface square to the target after contact with the ball as in picture one. It sounds logical to keep the clubface square to the target as long as possible but your attempts to do so will always result in an open clubface at impact.
